Convergence is a photographic work that depicts performative and theatrical acts. The concept of the work is based on notions of identity, its role in everyday social interaction and the relationship between personal and social. The parallel between the human psyche and one’s experiences within society is central to the work. Through a layering of loss, escape and ways of surviving reality, the work extends the photographic image to a portal between personal experiences and artistic creation. The existence of polarities and contradictions between calmness and spontaneity, loneliness and playfulness, suggests various levels of meaning and analysis of the image.
